Nicholas Mellen

Hi! My name is Nicholas Mellen. I am an Engineer supporting a variety of federal clients in adopting modern technologies such as new languages or frameworks, machine learning, cloud services and cloud native tech, and whatever else I tinker with on the weekend and say “Hey, that’s cool. How could I leverage that in the government?" In addition, I source, evaluate, and bid on federal, state, and local IT contract opportunities across a variety of vehicles and strategies.

I want to modernize the federal government through secure and transparent enhancements to its infrastructure, tech stack, organization, and contracting strategy. But in my free time, I build hobby projects (woodworking, hardware building/hacking, software), read way more news than necessary (Economist, NYT, WSJ, Politico Playbook), browse HackerNews for technology catnip, and roam DC with my dog in tow.
